SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!
Dear Brothers and Sisters, My dear Parishioners,
It is with great pleasure and joy to
invite you all for the Great Celebration of the Blessing of the Beginning of
Construction of our beloved Church that will take place on Sunday June 20th.His
Grace our Bishop Maxim will be with us to bring his fatherly
blessings for this very special occasion. We have been waiting for nearly half of a century to finally bring the dreams
of generations into reality.This
construction, I believe, will bring us all together united in love of our Lord
Jesus Christ and love to our special protector St. Michael the Archangel in whose honor this Church will be
built.Years of ‘trials and
tribulations’ have passed, and now it is time to show that this generation have
enough courage to go through this process and to finish it.I have no doubt that we, in this process,
will show our best: optimism, enthusiasm, effort, and willingness to complete
the task.
With so much excitement and firm
belief in the success, again I’m asking you to come on June 20th to all
be witnesses of this momentous and historic occasion.May God bless you all!
In Christ,
Fr. Slobodan

THE VENERABLE STEPHAN OF PIPERI
This
saint was born into the Niksich clan in the village of Zupa of poor but devout parents, Radoje
and Jacima. According to tradition, he first lived a life of asceticism in the
monastery of Moraca where he was abbot. The Turks drove him out of Moraca and
he settled in Rovacki, Turmanj in the place which today is called Celishte.
Later, he settled in Piperi in a cell where he remained in labor and god-pleasing
asceticism until his death. He died peacefully in the Lord on May
20, 1697 A.D. His relics repose there even today
and with many miracles they glorify Christ the God and Stephan, God's chosen
one.

send and they share the Orthodox Faith.
I
will be at church asking for donations from people for the next three weekends
in May.
I am asking for monetary donations as well as supplies including diapers,
blankets, or clothes. And that I will be collecting for the next three
weeks.
I
have attached a link below so that you can browse the website yourself and see
the organization.
The Mission Statement of St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church
of Santa Clara Valley, is to be faithful in fulfilling the commandment
of Christ to “Go into all the world and make disciples of all Nations,
